This fun filled presentation with Molly Idle follows the journey of a picture book from the “light bulb” moment its inception, through the pride of publication. After learning the in’s and out’s of children’s book publishing students will look at their favorite stories with fresh and admiring eyes! This 90 minute program gives students a grasp of:

Animation: Not Just for Saturday Mornings!:

Molly Idle gives students a sneak peek into the making of animated films. Covering the entire creative process, from visual development and storyboarding to animation; students will discover that there is more to their favorite cartoons than meets the eye! In this 90 minute artistic adventure students will:
 

• Participate in a demonstration of the fundamental principles of animation
• View exclusive film footage from The Road to El Dorado, Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron, and Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas
• Learn why every animator should study the works of Sir Isaac Newton, Leonardo DaVinci, and Charlie Chaplain
• The viability of the visual arts as a career
• Handle flip book examples of rough and clean animated scenes from feature films
• Learn about the viability of the visual arts as a career
